this is why children's exposure cannot be compared to that of adults. children are not people who differ from adults simply because they have less experience. they also have less ability to make sense of their experiences. as they mature cognitively, emotionally .and morally, and morally, they are able to apply the rudimentary skills better by perceiving more symbols in their exposures, recognizing pattern better, and associating meaning more efficiently. As they reach adolescence, they have passed through the last maturation gates and are capable of applying the advanced skills of analysis, comparison contrast, evaluation, abstraction, generalization, synthesis, and appreciation. whether they actually do apply these skills or how well they apply them is no longer a matter of maturation it depends on their experiences and whether they concentrate during exposures.
