Dear Khun Prasit and Khun Prakongchai,
Firstly, please don’t think that this is a complaint, but is more a constructive comment further to Khun Saranya’s minutes.
Regarding the use of mirrors by security guards at the main entrance, when arriving at the hotel on the past two mornings, although the gate had already been opened for me, I have braked waiting for the security check, but just been waved through. Presumably, this is because they recognize my car and think of me as ‘no threat’. Thai ‘kreng jai’ in some ways, I guess.
Hopefully, I and the rest of our staff are no danger. However, as I understand it, the problem being faced is that many of the current terrorists were once ordinary people who have become ‘radicalised’ for one reason or another. Though we pray this would never be the case, who is to say it couldn’t happen to someone we know, a colleague or regular supplier/guest for example?
May I respectfully suggest that whoever’s car it is and no matter how ‘inconvenient’, we take no chances and every car is subjected to the security policy, no matter what time of the day or how many people might have to queue?
For your consideration and comment.
Warmest regards,
Ajarn Jon
