Carbon exists as a biogeochemical cycle and is absorbed by trees and is released when a tree is cut down or dies. Plus, the rain forest is being cut down at an alarming rate and there is may certainly be more CO2 being released than is being absorbed. When carbon is taken out of the cycle by the burning of wood or fossil fuels, it does not mean that it will be absorbed at the same rate. The process simply isn't natural and therefore, an accommodating response from nature may not naturally occur
