In our experiments, E. coli O157:H7 inoculated at 1001 CFU/ml
reached approx. 106 CFU/ml after a 6 h enrichment step in ground
beef and whole milk. The CE of IMBs for E. coli O157:H7 in ground
beef and milk samples were 94.4% and 99.8%, respectively, and the
CE of Dynabeads anti-O157 in the same samples were 72.8% and
95.8%.
