At temperatures higher than the glass to rubber transition
temperature (Tg), products change from glassy state to rubber
state, and exhibit visco-elastic properties. Since the Tg of hydrophilic
products decreases with increasing water content, because
of water plasticising, water sorption can cause glass to rubber transition
even at a constant temperature.
