The East-West Gateway Coordinating Council is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the St.
Louis Metropolitan Area. The Council is led by a Board of Directors comprised of locally elected
officials and regional leaders, which meets at 10:00 a.m. on the last Wednesday of every month. The
work of the Council is carried out by an Executive Director and a staff organized into four departments:
Administration, Transportation Planning, Planning & Information Services, and Policy & Programming.
The work of the Council is also influenced by a number of Advisory Committees made up of community
leaders from both the public and private sectors.
The preparation of this report was financed in part through a grant from the United States Department of
Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. It is a result of a study being conducted by NuStats, LP on
behalf of the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council, with support from the Missouri and Illinois Departments of
Transportation.
