In this work, the gamma-rays interaction properties of zircons from Cambodia and South Africa have been studied. The gamma-rays interactions on zircons gave different values (especially for energies below 400 keV) of mass attenuation coefficients, partial interactions (photoelectric absorption) and effective atomic numbers. These results could successfully identify geographical origin of zircons from two sources; between Cambodia and South Africa, with offered advantage as a non destructive testing based on gamma-rays interaction with matter.
