Among the wide range of dyes, reactive dyes are among the most commonly used in dyeing processes due to their suitable dyeing properties (high stability and simple dyeing procedures). However, they suffer from high water solubility and low degree of fixation, which generate a highly colored wastewater. Therefore, it is necessary to select an appropriate treatment method to improve the quality of the wastewater discharged into the environment. Among all treatment strategies, the use of efficient adsorbents has been shown to be an effective method for the elimination of reactive dyes from wastewater because they are rapid, convenient and impermeable to toxic contaminants. Adsorbents also have low initial costs, a simple design and operation, and nontoxic by-products
