The objective of the present study was thus to evaluate the effect of various polymers on both the rheological and mechanical/textural properties of cosmetic O/W emulsions. For this purpose, eight hydrophilic polymers, either natural (Ceratonia siliqua gum, xanthan gum), or natural modified (hydroxypropyl guar gum, hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose,hydroxyethyl cellulose)or synthetic (carbomer, polyacrylamide (and) C13–14 isoparaffin (and) laureth-7, Ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP copolymer),were selected. Eachone was incorporated inan O/Wemulsion at a concentration of 1% w/w.
