Lately you had been having some trouble sleeping. Every night you were assaulted by an onslaught of nightmares, and it was beginning to have adverse effects on your health.
Your profession was that of an innkeep. You lived in a rural area, right nearby a heavy forest; many travelers stopped by to spend the night before venturing out into the woods on their journeys. Yours wasn’t a particularly hard job, but running it by yourself certainly left you with a feeling of forlornness.
Everyone that came and went had interesting stories to share with you, and you got to meet many people from all walks of life. But they would all leave eventually, and then you’d be left all alone again. Instead of letting it get to you, you worked hard to provide warm and hospitable care to all those that stayed under your roof.

It was morning time, and you were at the market, buying groceries as usual. Everyone here knew you, and you got along well enough despite not being close with anyone. You couldn’t help but listen in on some of the gossip that the shopkeepers would talk about.
The couple that ran the bakery were actually talking about something interesting today it seemed.
“That man sure was strange. I hope he didn’t steal anything… he looked like a foreigner with his weird clothes.” the man that ran the bakery said, unimpressed as he kneaded dough. His wife nodded, before looking towards you to ring up your order.
“He certainly was an odd one. Do be careful, [Name]. Don’t let any strange men into your home, it’s getting more and more dangerous out there these days.” she scolded. You pulled some money out of your purse and handed it to her.
“What do you mean? What did he look like?” you were curious now, he must have looked awfully strange for anyone to actually comment on it, considering so many people went through this town.
“Well, he was dressed in green, with a large floppy hat, and he had a long fishing pole like rod.” the husband commented, putting the loaf into the oven.
“And he had long silvery hair in a braid. He was kind of mysterious and handsome you know?” the wife winked at you as the husband rolled his eyes.
“Just because he was pretty doesn’t mean you can trust him! I want you to stay safe [Name].” the husband reminded you gruffly. You smiled, happily picking up what you had bought and turning around to leave.
“Of course I will be careful! Thanks for the heads up you two~ Have a nice day!” you called back, waving at the pair before heading home.

Later that evening, you found yourself sitting alone at your home/the inn, which was unusual. Normally you had at least one guest, but the only person that had been there, checked out earlier that day.
“It just figures that I’d be all alone again...If only I had a lover or something! Maybe that would help keep the nightmares away.”
You complained and pouted, daydreaming some about a handsome lover as you put some water on the stovetop to boil for tea. It was beginning to shape up to be another lonely night of tossing and turning in terror. That was, until you heard a knock at the door.
You looked up from the pot in surprise, the sun had already set, and usually travellers wouldn’t be arriving this late. You walked over to the door and opened it to see who was there.
“Hello! I was wondering if I could stay here the night? I have a long journey ahead of me, and am in need of a place to rest…”
Looking at you, was a man whom you presumed to be the same young man that you had been forewarned about. There was no way there were two of such distinct people wandering around.
Honestly, you were caught off guard. From the way the couple had been talking about him, you would have expected him to look more shady. Although indeed, he was handsome and mysterious looking, with delicate features and a gentle disposition. You blushed fiercely when his light blue eyes caught your own, he smiled slightly, waiting for your response.
“....Sorry, no vacancies.” you responded, closing the door in his face.
You turned around and began walking to your stove when you heard a knock on the door again.
“Are you sure? I have some money if you want…” you heard his tender voice call from the other side. You closed your eyes and willed yourself to turn away the attractive stranger.
“I-I don’t need your money, mister…” you hesitantly responded.
“....Well, I’m not sure if I could be your lover, but I did happen to overhear you complaining about being alone…” he seemed totally oblivious as to his own words, and you swiftly turned around, stomping over to the door and wrenching it open.
“L-Look just get inside already if you want to stay..! You don’t have to go and emotionally blackmail me!” you complained, frowning and unable to meet his confused gaze.
He stayed quiet as he walked in, sitting down at the table as you finished brewing tea. After a few moments of silence, you walked over and poured him and yourself a cup.
“So where are you com
