3.1. Thermal comfort criteria for Malaysia
Malaysia is a hot and humid tropical country that lies between
11 and 71 north and 1001 and 1201 east. The capital city, Kuala
Lumpur is situated at a latitude 317' above the equator at longitude
101133'. Most locations have a relative humidity of 80–88% rising to nearly 90% in the highland areas and never fall below 60%. The mean maximum daytime temperature recorded is 29–32 1C while the minimum temperature is 22–24 1C with a rainfall of 1000 mm per year [14,70].
