The sugars (glucose, xylose plus and arabinose), inhibitors
(organic acids, furfural and hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF)), ethanol
and xylitol were analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography
(HPLC) using a Waters HPLC system (Waters, Milford,
MA, USA) equipped with a refractive index Waters 2414 detector
according to Rocha et al. [21].
