the idea and desire for this book is simply to offer a solution to an obvious but massive problem: the sadness we often experience in work and in life.
before embarking on the journey of writing this book, i read several books on peripheral topics. some general takeaways were 1. the books were too long, 2. some were pretty dull, and 3. they were largely written by academics, as opposed to people in the trenches. as to length, have you ever wondered whether authors feel obliged to deliver a long manuscript of 300+ pages to justify the cost of a book? most of us enjoy a long fiction novel with which we can escape from reality, but when it comes to an inspirational book, most of us want someting short, sweet, to the point, and impactful. by page 200, many of us are struggling to figure out the few key takeaways or exercises that we need to go through to actually accomplish to goals of the book
