Most Americans will not know what over officious means. Americans on my Facebook likely will know, but most Americans will wonder what the heck it is trying to say. Make it simpler, with something like: DO NOT intervene in Thailand's internal affairs.
Intervene is a touchy word with Americans these days.
And get the X off the flag. That will make good Americans who otherwise would agree with us, angry. I do not like an X on my American flag and I would not put an X on almost any flag other than maybe North Korean. Better would be to put a Thai and American flag together at the bottom -- with no X. This is no time to alienate millions of good Americans who would be sympathetic other than for the X. The only thing worse would be to put a picture of Che in there.
The targets of ridicule are specific and limited: Ambassador Kenney, but not the entire US Embassy staff. There are some great people working in the Embassy, and believe me, many are embarrassed by her.
Other objects of ridicule are Secretary of State Kerry, and President Barack Obama, but not the entire USA. The average American and average Thai can make easy friends.
Kenney, Kerry, Obama -- all these people will be gone soon enough. It is best not alienate tens of millions of people in both countries. Many of us want Obama gone just as badly as millions of others wanted Yingluck gone.
Please remove the X, and use words that most Americans will understand.
