The online survey was publicized via local press releases capitalizing
on media interest in the emerging phenomenon. These press
releases resulted in television, print newspaper, and online newspaper
features, which included links to the survey. We also discovered
that links to the survey were reposted by others on various internet
sites, including social media and e-cigarette forums. Table 1 provides
information on survey referral source. Data were collected from
August through November, 2013.
