Greasepaint
The traditional basic foundation paint is used to give the desired skin tone. It comes in a variety of colours and in either hard stick form or, with a softer consistency, in jars and tubes. Greasepaint colours are easily mixed and they can be used to cover skin blemishes and the joins in prosthetic devices. It is also inexpensive. However it can be messy, rubbing off quite easily on clothes, and requiring powdering. Stronger colours in stick form are called liners, or shading colours. They are a convenient way of painting lines, highlights, lip colours and shadows.
