The purpose of this research project were to study the heavy metal residues in the aquatic plant water hyacinth by using X-ray spectroscopy technique. The samples were collected from Somdet Phra Srinagarindra 84 (Thung Talad) Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat. It was found that the relative abundances of Fe, Mn, Zn, Pb, Br, Rb and Sr with respect to Ga (internal standard) decreased with the distances far away from the landfill waste Ni and Cu did not show the decrease.
