Many avenues can lead to ecological consciousness: traditional ecological cultural practices, mythic attunement with Nature, scientific ecological knowledge (literacy) and spiritual ‘world’ consciousness. Knowing my professional colleagues, I felt that in this context ‘nurturing mythic and spiritual consciousness’ might be ever so slightly beyond the realm of trainer or teamwork workshop facilitator. Thus, we prepared a ‘normative’ workshop agenda for the three days and carefully introduced ‘bridging’ activities. We reinforced and supported the creative energy released by awakening the creative child in the first workshop session (the surprise, celebration party) in subsequent workshop sessions. We did this to promote the ‘epistemological leap’. Then we could nurture more ecological or embodied forms of intelligence and creativity.
