Growth Trials. Steers consuming MBM and PBM
treatments gained faster ( P < .05) than steers fed the
urea diet (Table 8). Intake was similar within trial
because all animals were fed at an equal percentage of
BW. Differences in gain would therefore be due to the
ruminal escape protein supplied by MBM and PBM
sources. Results from the three growth trials were
pooled because efficiency of protein utilization was
similar ( P > .30) for replicated treatments. The three
