Fashion retailer UNIQLO announces that it has selected Star Wars as the theme for the annual UNIQLO T-shirt (UT) Grand Prix. The top designs will be featured in its 2015 Spring/Summer collection, and will be made available in all its physical stores across 16 countries and regions worldwide, including its online store.
Star Wars was picked as the theme due to its refreshed popularity with the upcoming 2015 release of Star Wars Episode VII.
Winners of the Grand Prix will enjoy a tour of Lucasfilm Headquarters in San Francisco, California, as well as a cash prize. Additional runner-up winners will also receive a cash prize.
The contest is open to anyone, between July 14 to August 31, 2014, through the dedicated UT Grand Prix 2015 website.
The UT Grand Prix design contest started in 2005. Previous themes include Madonna and KISS in 2013, Coca-Cola in 2012, and Mickey Mouse in 2011.
