Julien and Barker (2009) studied high school students’ information literacy skills in a
science context, examining how the students went about finding and evaluating information for an
in-‐‑class biology assignment. Science classrooms, they argued, are an ideal environment in which to
teach information literacy skills because of the similarities between the information seeking
process and scientific inquiry
