Journal Blog is a simple but very powerful blog system which allows you to author, edit and manage articles directly from the Journal admin panel. The blog structure consists of a blog home page with subsequent category pages where articles can be displayed in grid or list views. It fully supports custom layouts for the blog home page, category and article pages as well as extensive styling possibilities.

Access Blog > General to set up general settings for your blog such as Blog Title, SEO keywords, default article views, comment settings, as well as blog Meta Data.
Blog Layouts
The Journal blog automatically creates 2 new layouts in System > Design > Layouts
Journal Blog - This is the default blog home page layout. It's also the default blog category layout and applies to all blog categories.
Journal Blog Post - This is the default blog post page layout.
When you create blog modules such as Posts Module, Sliders, Blog Search or any other Journal module, and want to add them to your blog home page, blog category pages, or article pages, you add them to these layouts.
Custom Layouts
If you need to have a specific layout for any of the blog category pages or any of your individual blog post pages you need to create custom layouts and override the default ones.
Go to System > Design > Layouts and click Insert to create a new layout.
Name the layout whatever you want, e.g. my-custom-post
Go to your particular blog post in Blog > Blog Posts > Layout Override and chose the custom layout you've just created.
Now any modules you add to this layout will only appear on this particular page.
The same concept applies to the blog category pages in case you want to customize them with different sliders or banners or any other modules. Just create a custom layout and override it in Blog > Blog Categories > Layout Override.
