b-glucosidase production profile
Wheat bran also resulted in maximal production of b-glucosidase
(105.82 IU g1), followed by a mixture of sugarcane
bagasse and wheat bran (1:1) (38.04 IU g1) (Fig. 4). The highest
activity occurred after 96 h of incubation. It is difficult to
compare the results described in the literature, since the
conditions to measure b-glucosidase activity and enzyme
production were different. Soni et al. [30] obtained b-glucosidase
activity of 99.4 IU g1 by using wheat bran as solid
substrate and a maximum activity of 250.9 IU g1 by using
wheat straw as solid substrate.
