There are few reports in the literature over the interaction of phenolic compounds and holocellulose-degrading enzymes (cellulases and hemicellulases) using fluorescence methods as tool of study (Boukari et al., 2011 and Tian et al., 2013). In the present work, we aim at comparatively evaluate the conformational changes of these two enzymes in the presence of quenchers and the binding of phenolic compounds by fluorescence spectroscopy and also to measure their potential for hydrolyzing cellulose pulp.
