Ginger(2kg) obtained from the local market in,Korea was
chopped, pulverized and extracted with hot water at a ratio of
1:10 (w/v) and concentrated to a weight ratio of 1:1(w/v),
and was then mixed with calcium carbonate(1:10,v/w),
spray-dried,and used as the test sample. A total of 30 crossed
Landrace Yorkshire sows (10 sows randomly allocated per
each dietary group,second parity sows) were fed corn–
soybean meal diets(Table 1) with or without supplementation of 0%,0.25% or0.5%GE, from 30d before their expected
farrowing date until 28d postpartum
