What started as a tickle began to tingle
then tingle a little more.
The cold sparkled off my Parka
and soon I tingled no more.
Instead, sleepily, head bobbing
body slipping forward only stopping
when I slid into a snowdrift,
frozen I was pinned to the floor.
Sleigh-bells jingling to a choir somewhere singing,
fairy lights twinkling, and my heart beat no more.
