3.1 Personality, perception and attribution
Bill Gates has many personality as his own identity such as happy, smart, courageous, and determined. Bill Gates is always happy doing his work. He would sneak out of his house to work on the computer at Microsoft. He enjoys his moment spending on computer and creating new innovations and programs for customers. He is fascinated and obsessed with all codes and computer software. Bill Gates is very intelligent and smart man who are an expert in various fields of expertise such as business planning, creating computer programs and so on. Furthermore, he has a lot of courage and he is not afraid to do something new and different from others. He invented numerous amounts of software products that some were new to customers at that time which are risky and might not be profitable for him and organization. However, Bill Gates still wanted to take those risks and tried his best to make it better if there are loses occurred in the organization. He shows his attribution as the one who never gave up until things are over.
His perception and vision is also extraordinary – the way he thinks about his organization and his vision towards his organization’s goals. David Barry was once said “Bill Gates is a very rich man today... and do you want to know why? The answer is one word: versions.” This statement clearly shows that Gates’ vision is one of the most important key for his success and achievements. Without being visionary like mentioned, there would not be a successful Microsoft like it is today. Bill Gates also perceives that problems and mistakes are the most useful source for him and his organization in order to improve and develop themselves to the top level like his statement -“Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning”.
