Fig. 3c indicates the profile of metabolites concentration during the experiment. It is possible to note that lactic and butyric acids were the most produced, reaching, approximately, 32 g/L and 15 g/L, corresponding to increases of 2.26 and 3.25-fold, respectively.It should be emphasized that the increment of the concentration of these organic acids under Condition 7 was an opposite result to the profile observed in the test of Condition 6, in which, after glucose addition, there was consumption of lactic acid.
