Hydration-dehydration-rehydration experiment under saturated
RH conditions revealed higher rate of hydration and
dehydration for the coated seeds as compared to non-coated
seeds (Fig. 3A,E,B and F). Rate of moisture sorption was higher in
non-coated seeds in comparison to coated seeds during rehydration
cycle of the dehydrated seeds (Fig. 3C and G). It is reported
that moisture induced alteration in glass transition temperature
(Tg) of polymer affects the sorption and desorption behaviors (Bleyet al., 2009) and this could be the reason for lower moisture intake
by the dehydrated coated seeds during rehydration cycle
