.2 Instrumentation and Data Collection
Data gathering was done through survey questionnaire
to elicit the respondent’s profile, extent of utilization
of computer applications in work
-
related activities, and effects of computer literacy training program. Interview
technique was also utilized using a semi
-
structured Interview Guide Question.
The r
esearchers administered the developed survey questionnaire to the respondents in order to assess the
impact of the said trainings. Meanwhile, 129 respondents were also interviewed through convenient sampling
to supplement the responses to the questionnaire
for an in
-
depth insight to answer the questions in the
instrument.
2.3 Analysis of Data
The data gathered from the respondents were analyzed and interpreted using statistical treatments as follows:
The researchers used frequency count and percentage
in the profile of the respondents. Frequency counts
were used to tally and describe the distribution of respondents according to personal information, educational
background, computer trainings and seminars attended and the availability of computer unit. P
ercentage was
obtained by dividing the number of responses in every item by the total number of cases. The quotient in its
decimal form was multiplied by 100.
In order to determine the extent of utilization of the CLTP and ACSDTP to the respondents’ work
-
r
elated
activities, the result of the administered survey questionnaire was construed through frequency count,
computing for the mean and obtaining of the grand mean.
The obtained measurement of mean was interpreted through the use of a 5
-
Point Likert scale
range of values
and corresponding descriptive interpretations.
To determine the degree of effectiveness of the CLTP and ACSDTP, the obtained mean was interpreted
using the following range of values and corresponding descriptive interpretations.
The mean r
ating ranging from 2.60 to 5.00 is described as effective while those mean rating from 1.00 to
2.59 means that the said trainings are less effective.
