The analysis of N2 isotherms for ACb provided value of BET
surface area of 843 m2 g1
. This parameter is one of the most
important when it comes of activated carbons, because is widely
known that as higher is a surface area of a porous solid greater will
be the number of sites available for adsorption, thus greater will be
its adsorption capacity. The ACb showed an average pore diameter
of 2.32 nm, and total pore volume of 0.490 cm3 g1
. The micropore
volume was 0.368 cm3 g1 corresponding to 75.10% of total
volume, indicating the microporous feature of ACb. The mesopore
volume, calculated by difference, was equal to 0.122 cm3 g1
,
which corresponds to 24.90% of total pore volume.
