Manchester United are ready to step up their interest in Real Madrid attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil.
With United having seemingly given up in their pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, manager David Moyes is set to turn his attention to alternative targets.
German international Ozil is believed to have been unsettled by new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti's arrival in the Spanish capital.
The player was substituted out of Madrid's first game of the season at home to Real Betis on Sunday and appeared visibly frustrated by the decision.
Ozil, 24, is since understood to have expressed concerns over his future at Real.
The Spanish side, unlikely to solicit offers from domestic rivals, are expected to consider bids from abroad for a player who has taken a step towards the Bernebeu exit.
Any bid for Ozil will likely have to break the £30 millon mark however.
