rigidity, and improving physical functioning and health related
quality of life.
According to the criterion that an improvement in quality of
life requires changes in at least two of the variables measured by
the PQLC, the acupuncture provided to the intervention group
was more effective than the placebo treatment in improving
patients’ quality of life.
