The area of transported material filled about 66–75% of the piped conveyor belt cross-sectional area. From this reason it is evident that only a certain concrete part of the top cover of the belt has a relevant contact with the material during the whole operational time. Taking into consideration this fact there were selected several samples of the belt that are representing
three characteristic areas of the conveyor belt in order to perform a non-destructive testing
by means of the industrial tomograph.
Fig. 3 illustrates a division of the analysed sample into 8 parts. The first area is a surface, which does not have a direct
contact with the transported material during the whole transportation time (the parts 1, 2, 8 and 7 in Fig. 3). The second area
is a surface with a relevant partial contact with the transported material during the whole transportation time (the parts 3
