Lip polysaccharide structure in salmonella typhimurium and e.coli
lip polysaccharide consists of lipid A,core polysaccharide and repeating polysaccharide. Lipid A forms a bilayer membrane with the lipid part of phospholipid and the sugar part extending into the surface. The repeating polysaccharide is involved in pathogenesis and is called O-antigen. LPS contains unique sugar L-glycero-D-mannoheptose and 2-keto-3-deoxyoctonate,and rase sugar such as abequose and colitose.
