Shin Hye leaned back and rested her head on Min Ho’s shoulder. ‘Arasso. Don’t you have a schedule today? I hope you didn’t cancel anything just so you could pick me up. Because if you did, then we probably need to have a long talk about priorities.’
‘Anya,’ Min Ho snapped back. ‘I only have one schedule today. We’re attending a premiere tonight, remember?’
Shin Hye immediately sat up straight and looked at Min Ho. ‘What are you talking about? I’m not attending a premiere tonight,’ she shook her head.
‘Huh? But didn’t you tell me that you were invited to Blood Boiling Youth’s premiere? We talked about it over the phone when you were still in Malaysia.’
‘Yeah I was invited, but I wasn’t planning on going. You mean you’re attending that premiere? But you don’t usually do that, right?’ Shin Hye pursed her lips. Moments later, her eyes widened. ‘Wait. Did you say you were going to attend thinking that I was going to go, too???’ When Min Ho didn’t reply, Shin Hye hit his arm. ‘OPPA! Are you crazy? Didn’t we already agree that we weren’t going to public functions together?’
‘Wait a minute. I don’t remember agreeing to anything like that,’ Min Ho responded.
‘But it was already understood when we met with the agencies. We have to stay away from each other as much as possible, remember? If I accepted that invitation to attend the premiere, your agency would have never allowed you to go.’
Min Ho scowled. ‘Ahh, taptape! What kind of world is this when I couldn’t even go to the movies with my girlfriend?’
Shin Hye linked her arm with Min Ho’s. ‘Let’s just watch a movie some other time, oh? And secretly. Not at an event where people take our photos,’ she told him.
‘What’s the point of me going there now? Ugh.’ They sat in silence for a while, when Min Ho gave Shin Hye a sideway glance. He’d been waiting for an opportunity to bring the Lee Jong Suk topic up. He’d been avoiding that conversation while Shin Hye was away, but he was very curious. It surprised him that Shin Hye hasn't said anything about him visiting her. Unless he really didn't visit her...? He cleared his throat. ‘By the way, uhh… why didn’t you accept the invitation to the premiere?’
‘Eh?’ Shin Hye looked up at him, clearly flustered. ‘Uhm. Kanyang… uhh. Ahh, I figured that it would be too close to my flight back from Malaysia so I declined,’ she replied, giving him an awkward smile.
Min Ho narrowed his eyes. ‘Are you sure that’s the only reason why?’
He felt Shin Hye shift uncomfortably and loosen her arm from his. ‘Huh? Uhm… it’s not the only reason, but it’s the most sensible one,’ she said timidly.
