As a designer it’s a good idea to keep your portfolio updated, as it is a reflection of your style, abilities, and experience, which can be ever-changing and evolving. Within the last few months I have come to notice that my design tastes have changed. I have waiting on the edge of my seat for the right client to come along, but I thought, why wait? I have been dying to work and experiment with my new-found aesthetic. When I was in design school the project possibilities were endless and I had a lot of freedom to take any direction I wanted and I miss that. With all of that being said, with my own self-initiated project, I started step one of my design process – the moodboard.
Besselli is quaint and cozy clothing boutique native to Wisconsin. I have gotten the chance to visit the enchanting little store a handful of times and from the moment I walked through their doors I fell in love with the atmosphere. Antique doors, rustic lighting, earthy paint colors, vintage chairs, and eclectic knickknacks bring the space to life and make it warm and inviting. The ladies of Besselli carry a wide variety of clothing with a carefree, boho, and whimsical flare as well as cater to the fashionable man.
I cannot wait to dive into this re-branding mini project that I created for myself. If I work up enough courage, I may even present my final creation(s) to Besselli’s owners – what do you think?
