The DSR reactions could be achieved at high removal rates by
the tested consortium without severe inhibition at up to
250 mg L1 TC stress. At TC > 100 mg L1 the removals of sulfide
and of accumulation of S0 were moderately affected. The Thauera
sp. and Pseudomonas sp. were the heterotrophs while Sulfurovum
sp. was the autotroph responsible to the DSR reactions. These
strains produced excess EPS, which were bound with added TC
