We used the Functional Living Index-Emesis (FLIE) questionnaire15 to measure the eff ect of chemotherapyinduced nausea and vomiting on daily life. The FLIE questionnaire contains nine questions on nausea and nine on vomiting. Responses were marked on a seven-point visual analogue scale. We calculated the nausea score, vomiting score, and total score by summing the responses within each domain and overall. We defi ned no eff ect on daily life as an average item score of greater than six on the seven-point scale (>108 in total score).16 The questionnaire was completed by the patient on day 6 during cycle 1.
