Incorporating in detailed design the concern on loss of easy and safe access
to the river by riverbank communities for domestic needs, recreation, water,
socio economic activities and/or fishing for food when embankment is in
place.
Specifying environmentally preferred construction practices, materials and
technologies, where possible, in the detailed design and/or bidding
documents, such as (but not limited to) techniques that would ensure
prevention of slope failure and erosion during rains while constructing,
materials that would allow easy and affordable maintenance and repair
considering the capacity of the UDAA.
