Good afternoon. I received a topic, Euthanasia : the perfect way to die.
Euthanasia from the Greek words meaning “Good death” is something we do or fail to do which causes, or is intended to cause, death, in order to remove a person from suffering. This is sometimes called "mercy killing."
Poor health and pain were only part of the story in those studies. The patients' loss of community and personal relationships combined with their functional loss contributed to an overall loss of sense of self. Yet the prospect of improved care caused them to rethink their desire for death
Researchers in the Netherlands found that friends and family members of terminally ill cancer patients who died by euthanasia had an easier time coping with the death of their loved one.
"The bereaved families and friends of cancer patients who died by euthanasia had less grief symptoms and post-traumatic stress reactions than the families and friends of comparable cancer patients who died from natural causes," the authors wrote in the British Medical Journal.
