This study adapts Sa'dabadi (2014) research as the ftamework to investigate and
explore the relationship between levels of ambiguity tolerance and writing skill performance
of Thai EfL learners. The proccdure of collecting the data will mn through the curent
research by means of adopting Ely's Second Language Tolerance of Ambiguity Scale
(SLTAS) Questionnaire (1995) to measure participants' level of ambiguity tolerance, and
adapting an error recognition test selected from Test of English for lnternational
Communication (TOEIC) in order to assess their perlbrmance on writing skill. This
liamework will answer the research question that "ls there any significant relationship
between thc level of ambiguity tolerance and $,riting skill performance among Thai EFL
leamers?" Moreover, adapting Sa'dabadi (2014) research as the framework will justify and
prove whether high performance on writing skill ofEFL lcarncrs is attributed to high level of
ambiguity tolerance. If so, how do English teachers increase and promote students' level of
ambiguity tolerance?
