Author POV
Choi Dongwook. Se7en. Whatever name you know him by it didn't matter. You still knew who he was. And in the K-pop world, he was legend. One of YG Entertainment's eldest artists, most widely known in almost every field that the industry had to offer. And his dashing good looks gave him even more of an edge. Dongwook has fought his battles and has earned his rightful place on top. You would think a man of his stature had no care in the world. Anyone who went against him was his so-called "hater". No one's opinion would even graze the surface of his ego. But you are sadly mistaken. When someone like Dongwook is this high of the ground, his one and only major fear is falling and never getting back up. Of course in a spotlight this big, no one has room to hide skeletons in their closet. But Dongwook did. Lucky for him he was a good liar. But he didn't know how long he would have to hold in the most important factor of his life.
He didn't know who would except him if society knew he was gay....
Author POV 9 Years Ago: 2003
Dongwook was exhausted. The water bottle couldn't never be enough to quench his thirst. His shirt and even his sweatpants were drenched in sweat. All from his rehearsals. Perfecting his dancing was crucial. He wanted to be the best in the business, and to get there was through his dancing. Singing was a synch. But dancing... he wasn't the best. Especially this one move... It just wouldn't work for him, of course. Him and his terrible luck. Just trying so hard just to not get anywhere is frustrating. And of all people, Dongwook would know. That's his life story.
As he continued, the dancing just seemed to get worse. Maybe he was hallucinating from his extreme dehydration or just overwhelmingly exhausted. Either way, it was tearing him apart inside. Even his backup dancers saw the rage growing deep within his eyes. "Alright, alright. Take 5 you guys. I don't want to wear you out.", admitted Se7en. Though his backup dancers made him look good, he wanted to perfect it himself. As everyone sat down in a corner, Dongwook began blaring the music once more. The echoes swelling within the room. "Gosh, look at him... He is trying soo hard! I really do admire him and his dedication.", said one dancer. "Of course he is. He's working his ass off. Especially when his debut is around the corner, I'd be shitting bricks right about now if I was him.", responded another. "If he is even shitting at all I mean look at him. He's a twig! Its like no food is entering his body at all!", exclaimed a third. Dongwook couldn't hear the commotion over his physical, and probably decaying, mental state. After a bit of a debate, they all decide to leave him alone to rehearse. Hopefully, everything that needs to be sorted out personally will be during his isolated time, thought the dancing group.
After their farewells to the solo singer, he sighed. A bit from relief and a bit from exhaustion. There are no words to describe the strenuous activity he has put himself through, and also what that is doing to his body. As he was making his way to close the door, something stopped him dead in his tracks. Something that seemed so unfamiliar. His reflection. He stared at his sad reflection in the mirror. Skin unusually pale, cheek bones beginning its emergence from the sides of his head. And then there was his face. Deep, dark sacks of sleep making a home under his coco brown orbs. Crow's feet stretching from the corners of his tired eyes out toward the sides of his face. His hair, not being washed in over a week, was staring to give off an unfamiliar musky smell that was signaling further his feeble attempt to keep up his personal hygiene. He was just a lost cause. Being dedicated taxed a heavy toll on his physical state. And somewhere in his mind, he knew he needed a break. But the rest-deprived section of his distraught mind took over and quickly changed his judgement. Choi Dongwook was slowly slipping into madness.
After staring at his almost lifeless being, he decided to continue, of course. Dongwook could feel that he was close to completing this annoyingly strenuous task, he just knew it. For once in a long time, he felt optimistic. The singer started up the booming music again and gave it a go once more. The swaying of the hips began, popping and locking followed after, then there was that pesky move. Scared of seeing himself fail once more, he quickly sealed his eyes and just moved with the music in peace. Next thing you the music slowly faded and the dancing was over. He did it! Goddammit, he ғυϲƙing finished! As he opened his eyes, he knew his task was completed. Se7en even started to hear a light applause echo throughout the dance studio. This made him smile. But wait, someone is clapping?! Someone was watching him...
Dongwook POV
I saw him through the mirror. My first glance. That beginning look, it ignited everything. If only I would have known. Known what hit me earlier. But I don't regret it, don't get me wrong. It's just I didn't expect what was to come after his dark chocolate orbs layed upon mine...
There he was. I didn't know who that mysteriously handsome man was... Dressed in an all black training outfit. Is he a new one? He looked fresh and new. Well maybe with some explaining I could get the answers I wanted. Cause a part of me wanted to talk to him So. BAD. But I'm a bitch. I'm not brave. And I'm not what you call "Out of the closet" if you catch my drift. And me and subtle don't mix. I cant blow my cover. Not now. Not so close to my debut...
Author POV
The glance was lengthy. Either of them never meant to stare so deeply into each other's eyes, but something pulled their orbs into this... trance. Even the booming music was toned out. Nothing was to interrupt this first meeting. Luckily, Dongwook's brain still functioned after that minor shutdown and literally shook his head out of the state of limbo he was paralyzed in. *Wow... That was... weird. But intense, and... hot.*, thought the dazed dancer. All this foreplay, if you will, with someone he didn't even know. This must be different. Must be special.
After his awakening, Dongwook looked down and smirked. He felt flattered, blushing slightly at the unknown man still burning his gaze into him. Dongwook swayed over to the boombox and turned up the music a bit. This caused the music to echo, which in turn awoke this man. After realizing what state his was in, the only words his mind can form were, *I need to know his name.*
The unknown visitor sluggishly began to move into the dance studio. Walking slow enough so he could be able to observe and absorb every move he made. He could watch him dance for hours. Dongwook on the other hand, found this to be a bit intimidating. And it wasn't like he could avoid the gaze and keep dancing either. The mirrors mocked his awkwardness and the man's death stare. He wanted to say something, or at least confront him, because this wasn't too flattering anymore. Just as he was gonna make a sound, another one cancels his out.
"You're doing the move wrong", mumbled this unknown observer.
He saw those enticing lips move through his prominent presence in the mirror but couldn't hear a thing. But who could hear anything with this damn boombox blasting. He lightly swayed over and pressed pause.
"Repeat please?", Dongwook playfully spoke.
The stranger formed a light smirk and stated nonchalantly, "You're doing it wrong."
His mind went blank. *Holy shit! Is he serious? He can't be serious! Maybe he is just ғυϲƙing with me. Lord, who is this man?*
Dongwook chuckled. "Hehe, not to sound cocky but I know what I did. I finished the dance and I felt it. I did it right. I have no idea what the hell you are talking about."
The man who still remains nameless chuckled as well. "Ok, but I SAW it. You know with eyes? And you were a bit off."
Dongwook's eyed widened. Flames about to explode from within his ears. But he kept his composure as best as he could. He brushed it off, smirked, looked away and rubbed his chin. "And who are you again? Some sort of expert?", stated Se7en bluntly. Sensing his uneasiness, the stranger just grinned. *I must have hit a nerve. Teehee.*,thought the observer. That teehee exposed itself as a smile. Dongwook tried not to blush at the sweetly given smile. *His Dimples... He has dimples... Cute~… Wait, what the ғυϲƙ am I saying? Don't let his little charm fool you! This weirdass just dissed your dancing!*, quickly thought Dongwook. He mentally slapped himself and was back on topic.
"And what the ғυϲƙ do you think you're smiling at?! You dufus!", remarked the angered dancer. "You. Your temper. It's... cute.", simply stated the unknown man.
*Now you're dead*, spoke Se7en in his mind.
The dancer's eyes expanded. The fact that this creepy ass stranger was not taking him seriously infuriated him. Especially when no one ever did. But the people who did that were people who were close to him, like friends who just loved to play around. Never from some random watchman. So he was highly upset. Though he had the right of way to completely explode on this man, he gracefully kept his composure. He had an image to uphold and god only knows who this man is and what he could do if he even was anyone important.
Dongwook just shook his head. As he chuckled his anger out he said, "Well maybe you would be mad too if some random ass stranger was completely ruining your mood after accomplishing something big. Like finishing a dance for his debut. That's more than you will ever accomplish." At this point, being a gentleman was not on his radar. Surprised at his sudden outburst, the strange man decided to play along. He wasn't stupid. No one could ever get this mad at some friendly advice. Especially, when you saw with your own eyes something was wrong. And by the way Dongwook stared at him, he knew they both felt the attraction. He was just playing hard to get.
