Sustainability and enterprise education
Enterprise education has emerged as one of the key initiatives of the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) since devolution a decade ago (WAG, 2002, 2006, 2007). The economic value of supporting the development of enterprise skills of young people and
adults was seen by policy makers as making a real and sustainable investment in the
future prosperity of Wales. A clear role for enterprise education was defined under an
Entrepreneurship Action Plan (EAP) for Wales, which was formulated to support this
policy (WDA, 2000, 2005). The EAP aimed to be a multifaceted plan to develop people
who were competent and motivated to establish viable and sustainable enterprises.
Sustainability and enterprise education though, are capable of multiple interpretations.
