Manchester United transfer news: David de Gea fee agreed, £99.5m Gareth Bale bid, huge Sergio Ramos offer
Manchester United are about to head off on their pre-season tour to the US – but they’re still working extremely hard on some major transfer deals.
The club have been focusing on outgoings in recent weeks, with a number of players expected to walk through the Old Trafford exit door before the season starts.
But there’s no way that Louis van Gaal would let these players leave without someone in mind to replace him, and he’s got some big moves lined up.
Here are the biggest rumours coming out of Old Trafford.
£28.6m David De Gea fee agreed – report
This one was always inevitable, and should be completed any day now.
United are understood to have agreed a £28.6m deal that will take De Gea to the Bernabeu, where he will earn £21.3m over six years.
That’s much less than United were offering, but there’s nothing they can do to stop him moving to Real.
You can take the boy out of Madrid…
£99.5m Gareth Bale bid – report
The Gareth Bale reports had gone quiet recently – but it turns out that United had been seriously working on the move behind the scenes.
Spanish outlet COPE say United launched an eye-watering £99.5m bid for the Welshman, which Madrid are believed to have rejected.
It would have been a world-record deal if it had come off, and who knows what United are going to do next…
Huge Sergio Ramos offer – report
Louis van Gaal wants new defenders, and is willing to put serious money behind his pursuit of Ramos.
United are understood to be making a massive offer to secure the signing, which would need to be in the region of £63m – a club record.
Can they pull it off? Watch this space.
