2.2.5. Committed effective dose
The committed effective doses were calculated based on the
report of National Radiological Protection Board (Phipps et al.,
1991) for the populations around the coal-fired power plant at
1 year and 30 years after an intake of the radionuclides by adult.
The NRPB-M289 report describes a database which contains doses
by inhalation and ingestion of 359 radionuclides in various
chemical forms. In this study, the dose conversion factors for the
studied radionuclides were taken from the NRPB-M289 report (see
Table 5) to deduce the committed effective doses to adult persons
due to the ingestion and inhalation processes. The deduced
committed effective doses are presented inTables 6and7.
