Visits to emergency rooms
No significant difference was found between the intervention group and the control group in relation to the proportion of
participants with visits to emergency rooms at Time 2 (and Time 2 + Time 3); however, there was a significant difference
at Time 3 (c2 = 4.10, P = 0.04) (Table 3). The results showed that a greater proportion of participants in the control group
had visited an emergency room (17.8%) than had the participants in the intervention group (6.9%) by Time 3 (Fig. 6).
