According to a directive of the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare, you will be asked to present the credit card used at the time of booking and have the front page of your passport or government issued ID copied upon check-in at your hotel. This is for identity verification purposes. If you choose to change any booking details, this will be considered a cancellation of the pre-existing booking, and the applicable cancellation fee will apply. For infants, a fee of up to approximately JPY 4,000 per night per infant (depending on the establishment) for use of facilities may also have to be settled separately at the establishment. Online cancellations are only accepted until 5:00 p.m. (Japan time) of the day of scheduled arrival. Plans that include dinner, however, must be cancelled by 12:00 noon at the latest.
