I think that's an argument that says that actually we were a lot better off,
we had a much lower consumption, we had much slower lives, when 80 to 90 percent of the population were peasants.
Um and the story of humanity to move away from peasantry and a life expectancy of 25 or 30 is in part a story of consumption.
It's very hard to separate change and improvement from the improvement in people's lives.
