Up to 50 ml of raw milk samples were collected from dairy
farmers and milk collectors. Milk samples were centrifuged in 10 C
for 5 min with 4000 g. After discarding the upper cream layer, the
lower phases were used for quantitative testing. All milk samples
were first screened with high sensitivity ELISA that detects AFM1 in
the concentration range between 0.05 and 0.1 mg/L (Helica Biosystem
Inc., San Diego, USA). Milk samples with higher concentration
than 0.1 mg/L were rerun with Helica 2000 M1 ELISA kit that
has a detection range between 0.1 and 2.0 mg/L.
